CONTEXT:
The academic brief for this project was to design and develop a salt, pepper or spice grinder which must include a cast component.
DESIGN:
This is an electric pepper which which is turned on and off by twisting the handle - replicating the action and sensory feedback of the manual process. The pepper can be easily refilled by unlocking the top half of the mill and keep food seasoned. The grind then slides down a cone which disperses it across the plate. The cast component for the model-making of this design is the acrylic base - cast polyester resin for modelling purposes.
